AI Gallery — The Attendee Experience

This article covers what attendees experience when they use the AI Photo Gallery — from their first visit through finding their photos, browsing, downloading, and sharing.

Attendees reach the AI Photo Gallery at:

https://your-event.eventhex.ai/ai-gallery

They can also access it from:

  • Event website — Gallery link in the navigation menu
  • Mobile app — Albums/Gallery section
  • Email/WhatsApp — direct link from post-event notifications
  • Personal share link — unique token link (/ai-gallery/p/[token]) shared after selfie matching

The core AI Gallery experience revolves around attendees finding photos of themselves using a selfie.

  1. Login — enter mobile number or email used during event registration.
  2. OTP Verification — enter the 4-digit OTP sent to their phone (auto-focus between digit fields for easy input).
  3. Selfie Upload — take or upload a selfie photo.
  4. AI Matching — the system runs face recognition against all event photos. An animated loader shows the matching is in progress.
  5. Results — all photos where the attendee appears are displayed instantly.

Attendees who didn’t register can still use the gallery:

  1. Visit the AI Gallery page.
  2. Click “Snap Selfie” — the main call-to-action button.
  3. Take or upload a selfie.
  4. AI matching runs and shows results.

If the attendee already has matched photos (from a previous visit or registration photo), the gallery automatically redirects to their personalized photos — no selfie needed.

The main photo browsing experience:

  • Infinite scroll — photos load progressively (20 at a time) as the attendee scrolls down
  • Lightbox — click any photo to open full-screen view with:
    • Left/right navigation (arrow keys or swipe gestures)
    • Slideshow mode — auto-play with play/pause toggle
    • Download button — save the full-resolution photo (with watermark if configured)
    • Share button — share to social media
    • Image preloading — adjacent photos are pre-loaded for instant navigation
  • Optimized loading — first photos load eagerly, remaining photos lazy-load

AI-curated highlights from the event:

  • People strip — horizontal scrollable row of detected faces at the top:
    • Your face is highlighted with a green border and “That’s You” label
    • Speaker faces have a purple border with a microphone icon
    • Photo count badge on each face
    • Tap a face to see all their photos
  • Album sections — event photos organized into thematic albums
  • Search — search across photos with debounced text search
  • Partner spotlights — sponsor ads interspersed naturally in the photo feed
  • People bottom sheet — tap to open a searchable full-screen list of all detected people

Browse all detected people from the event:

  • Face card grid — 3-column layout of face thumbnails
  • Speaker badges — speakers are marked with a purple pill and microphone icon
  • Photo count — each card shows how many photos that person appears in
  • Hover animations — subtle scale effect when hovering over a card
  • Staggered entrance — cards animate in with a cascading effect
  • Click a person to see all photos they appear in

Photos Together (/ai-gallery/photos-together)

Section titled “Photos Together (/ai-gallery/photos-together)”

Find photos where you appear with other specific people:

  • Shows all people who appear in photos together with the current user
  • Sorted by number of shared photos (most photos together first)
  • Click a person to see the filtered set of photos featuring both of you
  • Useful for finding group photos, networking moments, and team pictures

Attendees can upload their own event photos:

  • Multi-file upload — select multiple photos at once
  • Upload preview — thumbnail previews before uploading
  • Status per photo — each photo shows: pending → uploading → success/error
  • Stats dashboard — cards showing: Uploaded, Published, In Review counts
  • Status indicators — Live (green), Review (amber), Declined (rose)
  • Upload history — view previously uploaded photos and their status
  • Contributed photos go through the organizer’s approval workflow before appearing in the main gallery

A unique link generated for each attendee after selfie matching:

  • Directly opens the attendee’s matched photos without requiring login
  • Shareable — the attendee can bookmark or revisit this link anytime
  • Token-based access ensures only the intended recipient sees their photos

Attendees can share photos directly to LinkedIn:

  • LinkedIn OAuth — authenticate once to enable posting
  • Click Share to LinkedIn on any photo
  • Post is created with the photo and event context
  • Download photos and share manually
  • Copy share link for specific photos or albums
  • Referral tracking — when attendees share their gallery link, the system tracks how many people it brings in

The AI Gallery has its own navigation elements:

  • Bottom navigation bar — persistent navigation at the bottom of the screen (mobile-optimized):
    • Gallery / Photos
    • Moments
    • People
    • Contribute
  • Island navigation — floating navigation component
  • Header — event branding with logo and title
  • Sidebar — additional navigation options on larger screens

The AI Gallery includes built-in monetization through sponsor placements:

  • Partner spotlights — sponsor ads appear naturally within the photo feed in the Moments view
  • Ad cards — branded content cards between album sections
  • Organizers configure these through the Monetization settings
